The capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow has launched a helpline number with a dedicated staff to reach out to stray animals in danger. This step was initiated by Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) earlier this week.
If any citizen finds an animal injured, bruised, bleeding or in a subconscious state, the helpline number 6389300056 is at their disposal. The response team will allot trained personnel to the accident site. Alongside the complaint, a registration number will be provided to track the process and get the latest updates on the pending case. Additionally, it also sends out timely updates regarding the animal’s health .
As reported by the Times of India, the LMC receives around 15 – 20 complaints that are related to animal injuries or death. These complaints are subdued due to an increase in other civic related complaints.
