Technology has become an integral part of our lives and we tend to depend on technology in almost everything we do. Therefore, it’s just natural that we would want to leverage technology in the way we take care of our pets.

PetTech is a term that was previously used only by geeky technologists and venture capitalists. Now, pet technology is moving mainstream.

What Is Pettech?

Broadly, ‘pettech’ is an umbrella term for the category of pet technology products and services designed to help you achieve better health and wellbeing for your pets. Whether it is doggy tech, kittytech, bunnytech, or birdytech, pet owners like us are drawn to this new category called pettech.

Pets can be big or small, black or white. They can be chubby or bony, feline or canine. They can be quiet and dignified or boisterous and messy. They can be active playmates for your kids or silent companions for your solitude. However they might be, we love them, and most of us can’t live without them. Our pets mean a lot to us, and we do everything we can to keep them happy and healthy. And just like it has helped humans become healthy and happy, technology is helping animals do the same now.

While home cameras that can stream feeds via the internet have been around for some time, But as the Technology has improved,basic concept are becoming more user friendly by introducing "smart" elements. With the help of artificial intelligence, pets' movements in front of its camera will trigger a video call to their human's phone as well as a preview "pet selfie" clip. There are devices which also comes with laser pointers allowing people to remotely play with their furry friends if they're getting bored, and even reward good behaviour by firing off treats during calls.
