Delhi to have its First Government Veterinary College

Delhi will now have its first government-run veterinary college. The college will be open for the treatment of all types of animals. This announcement was made by the Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia on March 26, 2022. He shared this news with the public during his budget speech in the Assembly.

While speaking to the press, he stated that the veterinary field is in great need of this change. They do not only protect the health of the cattle and domestic animals, but also work towards the prevention of zoonotic disease. The number of pets that require health care in Delhi is on the rise. In order to meet this need, he proposed this new scheme in the budget meeting. He spoke about the establishment of the city’s first government-based veterinary college that will work towards treating all animals.

Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia presented the “Rozgar budget” (employment budget) with an outlay of INR 75,800 Crore for the financial year of 2022 to 2023 at the assembly. He aims is to create 20 lakh jobs opportunities in five years by setting up an electronic city and promoting the night economy, retail and wholesale market in the capital city.

The budget prepared for the next financial year is 9.86% higher compared to the previous year. Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia mentioned that the economy of Delhi is recovering gradually after the impact of Covid-19.
