Lady and the Tramp is a classic Disney film that is yet another heartwarming tale of love, loyalty, friendship, and family. This story is actually from a canine’s perspective. The 2019 version of Lady and the Tramp is a remake of the 1955's original animated film made by Charlie Bean. In the new version, Tessa Thompson voices Lady and Justin Theroux, voices Tramp. The rest of the cast includes renowned actors like Yvette Nicole Brown, Kiersey Clemons, Thomas Mann, and F. Murray Abraham. The 2019 version is a tribute to the storyboard artist Chris Reccardi who unfortunately passed away on May 2, 2019. The film is available on Disney Hotstar and can be the perfect weekend watch!
This tale of loyalty and unconditional love can make you feel all kinds of indistinct feelings. The canines and their pet parents are extremely expressive which helped invoke a sense of empathy for the strays. The film highlighted an important message that needs our attention even today. We need to eliminate the discrimination between domesticated dogs and strays on the street. The film gives us another important message on how we must look after furry ones like our own children and create a loving environment for them. There are many such wonderful yet pivotal messages that hit home!
So I’m going to try and give you a run-down of the movie without letting out any spoilers.
Long story short, a cocker spaniel canine named Lady is a pampered pet to a married couple. She knows her pet parents as “Jim Dear” and “Darling.” When Lady’s parents are about to have a human baby, they assure her that she will always be important to them. Although when Jim Dear and Darling go away on a foreign trip, they call Aunt Sarah to look after Lady and the baby. Aunt Sarah arrives with her Siamese cats. The Aunt and cats’ drive her nuts with their tactics so she scurries off from home and then meets Tramp on her little escapade. Tramp is her friend in need and becomes her friend (or should we say more than a friend) indeed! Well that’s all from us, you will have to watch to find out what happens next!
This film is a crazy joyride and a true blue sense of a furry one’s world! It’ll make you heart flutter with joy. So grab a box of tissues, either a tub of ice cream or a large popcorn. Invite your furry one to this movie night and you two can snuggle under a blanky whilse you watch this entertainer! Do prep some pet friendly snacks incase your pooch tries to haggle over popcorn midway!
