DIY Frozen Treats for Felines

DIY Frozen Treats for Felines

As we welcome summers, we often tend to have chilled water and lots of ice creams to cool ourselves. Felines don’t really enjoy the summer heat as much as we do but they do get heated pretty quickly compared to humans. You can help in cooling your furry one down by making some frozen furry treats for them. There are chances that your cat will love you a million times more if you give him or her a frozen treat.

All you need to prepared this frozen delicacy is

• An ice tray
• Can of water-packed tuna (alternately, you can use canned salmon)
• Approximately ½ cup of water
• A mixing bowl
• A Ziploc bag

To begin with, take a container or a vessel and start smashing tuna in it; you can even make its paste by putting it into your food mixer. Do not drain the tuna water because it helps with the freezing. Add half a cup of water into smashed tuna and mix it. To mix it properly, put the whole mixture into the grinder and let it blend well.

Add this blended mixture into a Ziploc bag and cut a small hole in one end. It will help you to easily fill the moulds (if you have any particular shape mould or a chocolate mould) or fill it into ice trays. Fill those trays and place them into the freezer for a couple of hours or until it’s frozen.

When the treats are frozen, you can pop them out and allow your feline to taste it.  You can put the remaining mixture into another Ziploc bag and store it in the fridge for up to six months. So if you happen to make a lot of it, you need not worry, you can use the same mixture for six months.

You can follow the same procedure to make some fruity frozen treats by adding some cat-friendly fruits, whichever fruits your furry baby loves and add some milk or water. Your furry baby will fall in love with these treats and will definitely fall in love with you too.
